A realization
Last week, Julia got sick for the first time. Over the course of a few days, she went from coughing and grumpy to listless and sitting in the ER with a 105 degree temp and two worrisome parents. Of course she’s fine now and back to adorable nap-hating self. However, in the midst of cradling her while she took a 3 hour fever-induced slumber (she had to be held all the time in order to sleep) I couldn’t help but be overwhelmed with the magnitude of being a dad and having this little one to take care of. It was simultaneously frightening and fantastic.
